Rumors, news, latest updates, Sauce Gardner

The Indianapolis Colts (7-2) share the best record in the NFL just after the midpoint of the season. They may be in the market to add talent as they make a playoff push.

Colts general manager Chris Ballard rarely makes mid-season trades. In his first eight years, he has made just one such deal, sending running back Nyheim Hines to the Buffalo Bills in 2022 for running back Zack Moss.

Considering the offense’s dominance, the Colts would more likely seek defensive help. Cornerback has been a problem area, primarily because of injury issues that started in training camp.

We will have news, rumors and updates as the NFL trade deadline approaches at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday, Nov. 4.

The Colts have traded for cornerback Sauce Gardner according to the NFL Network. Gardner has 20 tackles and 6 passes defended in seven games for the Jets this season. He’s a two-time first team All-Pro.

The Las Vegas Raiders reportedly send wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are chasing the Colts in the AFC South.

Veteran linebacker Logan Wilson, who had asked for a trade from the Cincinnati Bengals, is reportedly sent to the Dallas Cowboys. Several NFL observers had the Colts pursuing Wilson.

The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly adding Dre’Mont Jones from the Tennessee Titans, who has 4.5 sacks in his past four games.

The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles have traded for edge rusher Jaelan Phillips (from the Dolphins), cornerbacks Jaire Alexanders (Ravens) Michael Carter II (Jets) in the past week.

Who has been linked to the Colts? Several defensive players, including three from the Cincinnati Bengals: pass rusher Trey Hendrickson, linebacker Logan Wilson and cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt.

It makes sense. Those players know Lou Anarumo, who was Cincinnati’s defensive coordinator for six years immediately before joining the Colts this season.

Anthony Richardson, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, is on injured reserve with an orbital eye fracture suffered before the Colts’ Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals. He’s eligible to return in time for their Nov. 23 game at Kansas City.

Daniel Jones beat Richardson in training camp for the starting quarterback position and has excelled, leading to suggestions that the Colts trade him to get a fresh start with a team looking toward the future. The Colts have said they don’t plan to trade him.

The 2025 NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 4.

The NFL trade deadline is 4 p.m. ET.
