Election Day is on Tuesday, Nov. 4, and while the primary focus of most people will be getting to their polling precinct and casting their vote, many will also be running errands, like going to the bank or dropping off a package at the post office.
While the day is not a federal holiday, many people are left wondering if banks, post offices and shipping services will be open or accessible to the public.
Here’s what we know about what will be open and closed on Election Day.
Is the post office open on Election Day? Will mail be delivered?
Since Election Day is not a federal holiday, U.S. post offices will be open and mail will be delivered on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Will shipping services, like UPS and FedEx, be available on Election Day?
Yes. UPS and FedEx shipping services, including pickup and delivery, will be available on Election Day. UPS and FedEx stores will also be open that day.
According to FedEx and UPS, it will be business as usual on Election Day.
Are banks open on Election Day?
Yes. Election Day is not a federal holiday, and banks will be open during regular business hours on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Access to other banking services, such as ATMs and online banking, should be available as usual on Election Day.
