Spire Motorsports confirmed Saturday that it has hired Chris Gabehart, who will serve as the organization’s chief motorsports officer.

The role is not NASCAR-specific, given that Matt McCall is the organization’s Cup Series competition director. Gabehart served in the same role at Joe Gibbs Racing. However, he left the company after the 2025 season.

Instead, the chief motorsports officer role will involve wherever Spire Motorsports has a racing presence. Of note, the organization fields three full-time teams in the Cup Series, two entries in the Craftsman Truck Series, and a sprint car in High Limit Racing.

Earlier this week, Joe Gibbs Racing filed a lawsuit against Gabehart.
